Consultation with the SBU in Line with the YSF Internationalization

 

A meeting was held between the members of the international committee of the Young Scientists Festival and the heads of the international scientific cooperation directorate of Shahid Beheshti University (SBU), Dr. Karimian and Dr. Nezamzadeh, in order to develop collaborations.

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Moaddab introduced Young Scientists Festival and its objectives. He also introduced the members of the policy-making council and reminded that the festival will be with the idea-makers until the stage of commercialization and investment on the idea.

In the following, Dr. Mohammadi Panah, the secretary of the international committee of YSF, mentioned the change of the name “Jamili Charitable Foundation” to “Jamili Science and Technology Foundation” as the starting point for the internationalization activities of YSF. To follow the path of internationalization of YSF as best as possible, Dr. Mohammadi Panah further requested the SBU to share the experiences of its international executive team along with the experiences of the SBU international professors.

Following the meeting, Dr. Nezamzadeh, while appreciating this scientific movement, expressed his suggestions and types of cooperation with the YSF as follows:

  • Using the capacity of the SBU international students as well as Iranian and foreign faculty members of this university for the judging section
  • Benefiting from the connections and capacity of working groups of Russia and Kazakhstan and using the experiences of the two countries science attachés through Shahid Beheshti University
  • Announcing the start of the international department of the YSF to SBU faculties of basic sciences and their cooperation with the festival with the aim of solving the challenges related to this field of science
  • Emphasizing the effective role of basic sciences in people’s lives.

At the end of the meeting, Dr. Karimian emphasized the bilateral cooperation between the Young Scientists Festival and Shahid Beheshti University, announcing his readiness to jointly organize an event on the International Day of Shahid Beheshti University.

Young Scientists Festival (known as YSF) is held annually in order to promote the culture of self-belief and create motivation and hope in the young researchers studying or working in the fields of Basic Sciences as well as start-up and knowledge enterprises. As a scientific event, the festival provides talented young people and new businesses with awards and educational support to develop their ideas into practical applications as well as networking and building their future teams.
