President of YSF, Prof. Mahmoud Kamarei, named distinguished professor at University of Tehran

As announced by the Public Relations Department of University of Tehran and based on the approval of the Board of Trustees, top faculty members who have been cultural indicators at national and international levels, can be introduced and selected as distinguished professors.

To be eligible for the position of distinguished professor, candidates must have a minimum of 10 years of full-time professional experiences at the university and obtain at least 250 points in the fields of research, technology, and the arts after being promoted to the rank of professor.

The Distinguished Professor Selection Council, overseen by the President of the University of Tehran, will evaluate the index of qualitative variations to determine which candidate is best suited to the position of distinguished professor.

Distinguished professors are entitled to various privileges, including the postponement of retirement in accordance with the university’s employment regulations and the award of an exceptional promotion rank.

Therefore, on July 2023, Prof. Mahmoud Kamarei- President of YSF, Mohammad Ali Akhavan Behabadi, and Jawad Faiz from College of Engineering, and Mohammad Reza Mokhber Dezfouli from Faculty of Veterinary Medicine were selected as distinguished professors of University of Tehran.

Previously, two members of the YSF policy council, Dr. Ali Akbar Moosavi-Movahedi in 1997 and Ali Akbar Sabouri in 2019 from Institute of Biochemistry and Biophysics Research Center of University of Tehran were selected as distinguished professor.
