YSF and ICESCO Join Forces to Support Muslim Scientists in Member Countries

At a recent meeting attended by Dr. Abbas Sadri, Director of ICESCO Regional Office in Tehran, Dr. Majid Ranaei, Deputy of ICESCO Regional Office in Tehran, Dr. Fatemeh Mohammadipanah, Head of YSF International Committee, Dr. Soroush Moaddab, YSF Executive Manager, and Dr. Elahe Siadat, International Expert, the parties discussed ways to enhance cooperation between YSF and ICESCO.

Dr. Soroush Moaddab, YSF Executive Manager mentioned that based on what YSF is going through, it intends to support Iranian ideators abroad in national and international projects.

Dr. Fatemeh Mohammadipanah, gave an overview of YSF’s international activities including the establishment of the UNESCO Basic Sciences and Technology Club which aims to expand YSF’s international reach.

Dr. Mohammadipanah also highlighted that volunteers participating in the international section of the festival are not necessarily foreigners, but they can use a foreign expert or consultant in their team and receive 20% more support credit than national winners.

Dr. Abbas Sadri, Director of ICESCO Regional Office in Tehran, explained the overall impact of entrepreneurial cycle, while Dr. Moaddab added that YSF has been registered in the research week calendar of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology and aims to benefit from the experiences of experts in the innovation cycle ecosystem, including the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, the Iran National Innovation Fund, Accelerators, Innovation Centers, and Science and Technology Parks.

Dr. Sadri gave an explanation regarding study tours and knowledge sharing opportunities and recommended Jamili Science and Technology Foundation to invite young Muslim scientists from ICESCO member countries. The partnership between YSF and ICESCO is set to include joint events such as webinars, seminars, and scientific meetings in the future. This collaboration is a significant step towards supporting Muslim scientists in ICESCO member countries and promoting scientific innovation in the region.
