Exploring Innovative Approaches for Science Promotion

A meeting was held on Monday, February 26, 2024, at the YSF permanent secretariat, bringing together Mohammad Reza Norouzi, a science promoter and the designer of the science center, along with members of the YSF secretariat.

During the meeting, Dr. Shadi Jamili, Director of YSF Office, emphasized the importance of promoting science among the general public and called for the design of a collaborative process involving active science promoters. The Director of the YSF Office acknowledged the success of previous science promotional events held by the YSF in Tehran and stressed the need to continue organizing such events. Additionally, she proposed the development and implementation of other science promotion models, such as podcasts and scientific content.

Dr. Soroush Moaddab, YSF Executive Manager, introduced the Young Scientists Festival and emphasized the expansion of science promotion activities across the country’s provinces. He announced the YSF’s support for initiatives aimed at promoting science among the public.

Mohammadreza Norouzi, also known as Pejman Norouzi among science promoters, regarded the YSF’s support for ideators and start-up businesses as a process comparable to global examples. Norouzi emphasized the need to move away from traditional and stereotypical science promotion activities in the country and encouraged the YSF to implement new and effective approaches. He suggested the establishment of a discovery and experience center or an experience-oriented scientific center, with the goal of creating influential and pioneering examples in the country.

In conclusion, the members agreed to develop an executive plan for science promotion activities.
