ECO Scientific Foundation: A Horizon for International Activities

The former president of the ECO Scientific Foundation, Prof. Manzoor Hussain Soomro, was hosted by YSF office on Saturday, August 27.

Established in Islamabad, Pakistan in 2011, ECO Science Foundation (ECOSF) is the scientific agency of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) which aims to promote Science & Technology leading to economic development.

At the meeting, the former president of ECOSF mentioned S&T exchange along with promoting research projects as the goals of ECO Scientific Foundation with a development perspective on the member countries as well as supporting youth and women.

During the welcome speech, Mr. Ebrahim Jamili, the founder of Jamili Science & Technology Foundation, stated some points regarding the constant educational support of YSF as well as the establishment of the UNESCO Basic Sciences and Technology Club.

Mr. Jamili, YSF head of policy-making council, invited Prof. Soomro to be the honorary member of YSF international committee and asked him to introduce international experts in the field of basic sciences.

In the following, the head of the festival’s policy-making council made a proposal regarding the exchange of scientific information as well as the training required for team-building skills for the applicants of the Young Scientists Festival.

At the end of the meeting and to evaluate the impact of the festival on the development of the participants’ capabilities, it was decided that the Festival of Young Scientists should benefit from the valuable experiences of the ECOSF.

Young Scientists Festival (known as YSF) is held annually in order to promote the culture of self-belief and create motivation and hope in the young researchers studying or working in the fields of Basic Sciences as well as start-up and knowledge enterprises. As a scientific event, the festival provides talented young people and new businesses with awards and educational support to develop their ideas into practical applications as well as networking and building their future teams.
