The president of the ECO Scientific Foundation, Prof. Komail Tayebi, was hosted by YSF office on Wednesday, September 21.
Established in Islamabad, Pakistan in 2011, ECO Science Foundation (ECOSF) is the scientific agency of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) which aims to promote Science & Technology leading to economic development.
At the meeting, the president of ECOSF emphasized the importance of a production organization, human resources as well as networking among ECO member countries and the role of a facilitator that ECO can provide to connect these countries.
Mr. Ebrahim Jamili, the YSF Head of Policy-making Council, placed emphasis on basic sciences as the primary focus of the Young Scientists Festival. He further mentioned that meeting the international standards regarding the internationalization process of the festival has enormous importance to Jamili Science & Technology Foundation and that cannot be disregarded.
Dr. Shadi Jamili – Director of YSF Permanent Secretariat – stated some points regarding the 5th Festival of Young Scientists along with mentioning the speeches delivered by Dr. Sarvar Bakhti – the former President of the ECO Cultural Institute (ECI) – and Prof M.H. Soomro – the former president of the ECO Scientific Foundation and currently the ECOSF Honorary Advisor – at the last festival.
To support the young innovative scholars of the country and the ECO countries in the region as well, was also another point mentioned by Dr. Gholami, the YSF Head of Management and Planning Committee.
In the following, Dr. Moaddab – the Festival Executive Director – mentioned Minetech Accelerator and Aansoo Academy as the companies cooperating with Jamili Science & Technology Foundation to complete this entrepreneurship ecosystem.
At the end of the meeting, Prof. Tayebi declared his intention to a long-term cooperation between ECOSF and YSF. Some main points were also decided to be arranged for the closing ceremony of 6th Young Scientists Festival which included the keynote speeches of the Presidents of ECO branches (Science, Cultural and Education), ambassadors of ECO member countries along with the continuation of joint ECO-YSF meetings.
