Head of Science and Technology Sector at ICESCO: let’s educate job creators, not job seekers

Prof. Dr. Raheel Qamar – Head of Science and Technology Sector at ICESCO expressed his delight in attending the 7th YSF Closing Ceremony and said: in the upcoming year of 2024, ICESCO will be focusing on engaging and empowering the young generation in science and technology.

In line with this, ICESCO will be organizing a three-day entrepreneurship camp, followed by a six-week acceleration program, organized in collaboration with the University of Tehran. This program aims to inspire young individuals and future scientists, considering that the world of science is evolving rapidly, to ensure that the young generation can adapt to the changes in science and technology.

Prof. Qamar added: the way we do scientific research is going to drastically change in the future with employing artificial intelligence and machine learning tools and we want the youth to evolve with these changes and to serve the humanity and home country by cutting-edge discoveries.

Prof. Qamar highlighted the importance of quantum computing and continued: it is essential investing in this new technology to promote the integrity and cybersecurity of our networks and servers. More importantly, in the very near future, academic qualifications alone may no longer be sufficient for employment prospects and job markets. This not only let our youth to stablish their own companies and run their own businesses, but also to be a positive contributor to SDGs of sustainable development goals.
