Expansion of the international activities of the Young Scientists Festival (YSF) in cooperation with the Department of Social Partnerships, Ministry of Sports and Youth

On Monday, January15, 2024, a meeting was held between the General Department of Social Partnerships of the Ministry of Sports and Youth and the members of the Young Scientists Festival (YSF).

During the meeting, Dr. Soroush Moaddab, YSF Executive Manager, provided an overview of the Zarrin Industrial and Minerals Group, Jamili Science and Technology Foundation and its initiatives including student scholarships.

Dr. Moaddab also highlighted the inception of the Young Scientists Festival in 2017 and the participation of the Minister of Science, Research and Technology, top entrepreneurs and renowned professors from top universities in the YSF’s policy council and scientific committee.

Eng. Amin Sadeghi, YSF Content Creator, further elaborated on how the YSF supports winners in the ideators and business sections and specified the funding available.

Additionally, he mentioned the opportunity for investment in ideas through Aanco Academy, the venture capital company affiliated with YSF, once the business stage is reached.

Dr. Ali Parsania, Director General of the Department of Social Partnerships of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, expressed his satisfaction with the presence of YSF members at the meeting and introduced the departments activities. These activities encompass organizing training and counseling courses, encouraging the creation of sports teams in Neighborhoods and cities, promoting sports activities in schools and universities, fostering traditional and local sports, creating public sports spaces, and facilitating sports activities for people with special needs.

Dr. Parsania expressed willingness to expand cooperation in promoting awareness about YSF.

He emphasized that the Department of Social Partnerships of the Ministry of Sports and Youth serves as the international interface for youth in the region and can facilitate international events for YSF ideators.

Furthermore, he introduced a three-day educational event called “Nama,” targeted at individuals aged 18 to 25. To date, 424 teams have participated in the Nama event.

Dr. Parsania also mentioned an upcoming festival in Russia scheduled for March of the current year, in which the Department of Social Partnerships of the Ministry of Sports and Youth will participate. Additionally, he highlighted the department’s connection with 4,500 NGO centers catering to the age group of 27 to 30.

In conclusion, it was decided that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) should be established between the Young Scientists Festival and the Department of Social Partnerships of the Ministry of Sports and Youth to facilitate international expansion. The Department of Social Partnerships will also assist in YSF’s communication and collaboration with the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF) and engage in meetings with non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
