Dr. Javad Eshaghi Rad Shares Insights with Young Scientists Festival’s International Committee

In September 2023, the International Committee members of the Young Scientists Festival had the privilege of gaining valuable insights from Dr. Javad Eshaghi Rad during a virtual meeting. The session was organized to leverage Dr. Eshaghi Rad’s expertise and explore opportunities for collaboration in the scientific community.

The meeting commenced with an introduction by Dr. Soroush Moaddab, the Executive Manager of YSF. Dr. Moaddab underscored the festival’s commitment to supporting both ideators and startups, elucidating the extent and manner of the festival’s assistance provided to winners. In response to student frustrations and to counteract brain drain, the festival initiated its international activities, allowing participation from Iranians residing abroad and foreigners living in Iran. He further elaborated on the UNESCO Club and its activities, highlighting the festival’s broader engagement with international organizations such as the Islamic World Organization for Education, Science, and Culture (ISECO), and the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO).

Considering the international activities of Urmia University, Dr. Moaddab expressed the desire to benefit from the experience of Dr. Javad Eshaghi Rad.

Dr. Eshaghi Rad expressed his enthusiasm for the presence of such a vibrant and dynamic group in the country, emphasizing its support for young ideators. He shed light on the operations of the international campus of Urmia University, highlighting its diverse student body comprising 1,770 foreign students from Iraq, Turkey, Syria, and Afghanistan. Dr. Eshaghi Rad further revealed plans to accept students from Pakistan and India to enhance the university’s cultural diversity. He emphasized that the international campus of Urmia University excels in student and professor exchanges, the creation of study opportunities, and the execution of joint projects. Notably, Urmia University houses 520 proficient professors, with approximately 200 to 250 collaborating with the international campus.

During this insightful meeting, Dr. Javad Eshaghi Rad’s participation in the international committee led to important decisions. He will introduce a selection of young professors from Urmia University to evaluate international ideas within the festival’s required fields. Additionally, plans were made to forge connections with universities in Iraq and Turkey. The meeting also resulted in arrangements for the science promotion team to visit the international campus of Urmia University.
