Cooperation between Young Scientists Festival (YSF) and Iran University of Industries & Mines (IUIM)

On February 17, 2024, a significant trilateral meeting was held at the permanent secretariat of the Young Scientists Festival, bringing together the Young Scientists Festival, Aancoo Academy, and Iran University of Industries and Mines. The meeting was attended by the President of YSF Policy-making Council, the Director of the YSF Office, the CEO of Ayerma Knowledge-based Company, the CEO of Aancoo Academy, the President of the Iran University of Industries & Mines, and other esteemed members.

Dr. Soroush Moaddab, the Executive Manager of YSF, provided a comprehensive overview of the YSF’s activities over the past 7 years. Additionally, Dr.  Moaddab elaborated on the YSF’s forthcoming strategies aimed at expanding the scope of activities in the future.

Dr. Meshkat Asadi, the CEO of Aancoo Academy, provided an overview of the initiatives and educational programs implemented for industrial managers in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

During the meeting, Dr. Alireza Shojaei outlined the activities of the Iran University of Industries & Mines and discussed the potential for collaboration between the YSF and Aancoo Academy.

The President of the Iran University of Industries & Mines emphasized the correlation among the various components of the innovation cycle within the Zarrin Industrial and Mining Group. Additionally, Dr. Shojaei highlighted the importance of conducting specialized training programs for the mining department and industrial managers, and announced plans to establish a training calendar for the upcoming year.

Regarding areas of cooperation, Dr. Shojaei highlighted several areas, including hosting conferences, collaborating with festivals such as Hatam National Festival, participating in international events and exhibitions, attending annual conferences of associations, and fostering cooperation and synergy with the Academy of Sciences of Iran, while also leveraging the capabilities of other academies.

Moreover, the President of the Iran University of Industries & Mines emphasized the promotion of science and the importance of establishing a problem-solving base to expand the scope of activities of the Ideators Club.

Subsequently, Eng. Ebrahim Jamili, the President of YSF Policy making Council, emphasized the gap between the university and the industry and underlined the necessity of concluding a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and the measures implemented, which include the establishment of a pilot space to support startups.

Consequently, Dr. Shadi Jamili, Director of YSF Office, providing an overview of the objectives and initiatives of both YSF and the UNESCO Basic sciences and Technology Club, and announced the implementation of a wider range of activities for the upcoming year.
