National Assembly of Deans of Faculties of Basic Sciences

On Monday, August 4, 2025, the organizing committee of the 9th Young Scientists Festival convened a national meeting at the University of Tehran, bringing together heads of basic science faculties from universities across the country. The event aimed to foster collaboration and develop strategies for promoting the upcoming festival on a national scale.

The session was attended both in-person and virtually by Mr. Jamili, President of YSF Policy Council, Dr. Kamarei, President of the Festival, Dr. Ameri, President of the Faculty of Science at the University of Tehran and Festival Secretary along with other festival officials and heads of science faculties from across Iran.

Opening Remarks

Dr. Soleimani, Vice President of Research at the Faculty of Science, welcomed attendees and provided an overview of the meeting.

Dr. Ameri emphasized the declining interest in basic sciences and called for strategies to encourage students to pursue these fields at the university level.

Reports and Proposals

Dr. Gholami, Head of the Festival’s Management and Planning Committee, presented a report on the festival’s activities over the past several years.

Mr. Jamili outlined the festival’s forward-looking goals and invited attendees to share suggestions for improving its processes.

Discussion and Conclusions

Participants shared their views and proposals. Dr. Kamarei concluded the session by summarizing the key points and stressing the importance of incorporating feedback and fostering greater collaboration.

He added that all suggestions would be reviewed and, where feasible, implemented.

The meeting was held in an interactive atmosphere, focusing on:
