Head of the Secretariat of YSF Meets with Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures at the University of Tehran

On Saturday, November 24, 2025, a collaborative meeting was held between Dr. Shadi Jamili, Head of the Permanent Secretariat of the Young Scientists Festival (YSF), and Dr. Janolah Karimi Motahhar, Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures at the University of Tehran. The meeting aimed to explore avenues for joint scientific, research, and cultural cooperation between the two institutions, leveraging mutual capacities to advance academic and international initiatives.

The meeting opened with remarks from Dr. Gholami, Head of the Management and Planning Committee of the festival, who provided an overview of the festival’s mission, structure, and formation. He emphasized YSF’s commitment to identifying and supporting young generation in the field of basic sciences across the country and presented a detailed report on its operational framework.

Dr. Gholami also outlined the festival’s awards program, highlighting its role in motivating young scholars and enhancing the academic and research caliber of participants.

Following this, Dr. Mohammadipanah, Head of the International Committee, shared a report on the committee’s activities. She emphasized the importance of identifying global opportunities and events to elevate the scientific standing of Iran’s youth on the international stage.

Dr. Soroush Moddab, Executive Secretary of the festival, then discussed recent meetings held with various embassies and underscored the need for targeted content creation to promote the festival’s international segment. He described content development as a powerful tool for expanding global engagement and showcasing the scientific potential of young Iranian researchers.

Dr. Shadi Jamili emphasized the Jamili Science and Technology Foundation’s strategic funding policies, noting that allocated resources should be utilized domestically. She clarified that the primary goal of the international segment is to empower selected teams/individuals to attract foreign investment while continuing to develop their projects within Iran.

Later in the session, Dr. Karimi Motahar reflected on his longstanding familiarity with the foundation and the festival, expressing his interest in cross-border collaboration. He affirmed the faculty’s readiness to support YSF’s international programs and highlighted the presence of foreign academic institutions within the faculty as a valuable platform for expanding joint initiatives and capitalizing on global opportunities.

The meeting was also attended by Dr. Mohammadreza Doustizadeh, Deputy for Finance and Administration and member of the German Language Department; Dr. Hossein Gholami, member of the Russian Language Department; Dr. Marziyeh Mehrabi, Head of International Affairs and member of the French Language and Literature Department; Dr. Maryam Soltan Beyad, member of the English Language and Literature Department; Engineer Alireza Balouchi, Administrative and Financial Advisor to the University of Tehran Support Foundation; and Engineer Alireza Shadfar, member of the festival’s secretariat.
