Productive Brainstorming Meeting with Dr. Babak Haghighat and YSF International Committee

On Sunday, September 17, 2023, a productive brainstorming meeting was held in the presence of members of the International Committee of the Young Scientists Festival and Dr. Babak Haghighat, a distinguished faculty member of the Physics Department at Tsinghua University in China.

The meeting commenced with an in-depth explanation by Dr. Soroush Moaddab, YSF Executive Manager, who provided insights into the festival’s inception, its various activities, and introduced the Jamili Science and Technology Foundation as the festival’s primary sponsor.

YSF executive manager referred to the activities taken within the framework of the international dimension of the festival and made statements on obtaining the internationalization license of the festival by the University of Tehran, establishing the UNESCO Club, concluding a memorandum of understanding with Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) and WIIPA, and starting joint scientific activities with ICESCO and universities in Kazakhstan and Tunisia.

During the discussion, Dr. Babak Haghighat, recognizing the festival’s accomplishments, expressed the interest of Chinese researchers and individuals with scientific potential in collaborating with active organizations in Iran. He proposed the establishment of joint activities between the festival and Tsinghua University to further enhance its international endeavors.

Eng. Shima Manzoumi, an expert on the YSF’s international committee, expressed appreciation for the scientific capabilities of Iranian professors abroad. She urged Dr. Haghighat to introduce key scientific indicators and suggested establishing a relationship with the International Congress of Basic Science in China.

In the end, it was decided to invite Dr. Haghighat to join the international committee of the festival, and contribute to the YSF evaluation section of international ideas. Additionally, he was encouraged to establish effective communication channels with the International Conference of Basic Sciences in China and other relevant scientific individuals and organizations.
