International Collaboration of YSF with Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA)

The YSF International Committee was honored hosting a meeting with Dr. Behzad Azarsa – Deputy Director of Multilateral Cooperation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ms. Irandokht Tolouei – Expert of the Indian Ocean Rim Association Office in Iran.

During the meeting, Dr. Soroush Moaddab – YSF Executive Manager, explained the scope of the YSF and Jamili Foundation activities since 2007.

Eng. Ebrahim Jamili – President of YSF Policy-making Council then continued explaining about the Zarrin Industrial & Mining Group and said: a part of the group’s revenue goes towards supporting and assisting young scholars through the Jamili Foundation. The foundation aims to inspire and motivate creative and innovative young individuals in our country. In line with this, each year, the foundation organizes an event called the “The Young Scientists Festival” in collaboration with scientific institutions, research centers, and renowned universities across the country.

Dr. Fatemeh Mohammadipanah – Head of YSF International Committee explained about the internationalization of the festival and highlighted the training courses, webinars, and seminars held in collaboration with international organizations which are focused on applied basic science research and also the impact of basic science on sustainable development. She continued: the purpose of the festival’s international approach is to establish connections with scientific organizations worldwide and introduce these opportunities to Iranian students. These opportunities aim to foster collaborative projects with international specialists and facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experiences.

In the following, Dr. Behzad Azarsa – Deputy Director of Multilateral Cooperation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed his sincere gratitude to Eng. Jamili for supporting the young researchers and said: in order to expand the international activities of YSF, it would be beneficial to engage with IORA, an organization dedicated to strengthening regional cooperation and sustainable development, which consists of 23 member countries, including Iran, and 11 dialogue partners. It specifically focuses on Academic, Science and Technology Cooperation, Disaster Risk Management, Maritime Safety and Security, Fisheries Management, Trade and Investment Facilitation, Tourism and Cultural Exchanges, and 2 cross-cutting issues of IORA including Blue Economy and Women’s Economic Empowerment.

This meeting was attended by Eng. Ebrahim Jamili-President of YSF Policy-making Council, Dr. Behzad Azarsa- Deputy Director of Multilateral Cooperation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Irandokht Tolouei – Expert of the Indian Ocean Rim Association Office in Iran, Dr. Shadi Jamili-Director of YSF Office, Dr. Fatemeh Mohammadipanah-Head of YSF International Committee, Dr. Soroush Moaddab-YFS Executive Manager, and Eng. Shima Mnazoumi-YSF International Expert.
