On Wednesday, January 31st, 2024, a meeting focused on the development of cooperation between the Young Scientists Festival (YSF) and the Iran National Science Foundation (INSF) took place at the building of the Fund for Supporting the country’s researchers and technologists.
During the meeting, Dr. Shadi Jamili, Director of YSF Office, provided an overview of the YSF and introduced its various components. She also highlighted the support processes available for YSF final winners and requested the introduction of expert evaluators in the field of basic sciences to assist in refining the YSF’s indicators.
Amin Sadeghi, YSF Secretary of Content Creations and Events, discussed the YSF’s efforts to promote science through the organization of events, both in Tehran province and other regions, emphasizing the potential for collaborative initiatives.
Dr. Ali Jafarian Dehkordi, INSF Vice President for Research and Technology, outlined the INSF’s missions and goals in supporting researchers. He stressed the importance of bilateral cooperation, particularly in identifying evaluators based on the YSF’s needs and conducting a thorough and technical review of the evaluation indicators. Dr. Jafarian Dehkordi also emphasized the establishment of a transparent results announcement process to provide participants with valuable feedback on the strengths and weaknesses of their submitted ideas or plans.
The meeting was attended by key members, including Dr. Shadi Jamili- Director of YSF Office, Dr. Ali Jafarian Dehkordi- INSF Vice President for Research and Technology, Amin Sadeghi- YSF Secretary of Content Creations and Events, Hengameh Tashtzar, YSF Secretary of Public Relations Committee, and Dr. Saeid Maddah- INSF Community and Industry Relations Manager.
The Iran National Science Foundation (INSF) is a public organization established in 2003 as “The State Fund for Supporting Researchers” with the approval of the Supreme Council for Cultural Revolution. Through monitoring international trends in science and technology, this organization aims to accelerate the science and research activities of Iranian researchers, promote the value of science in society, advance the frontiers of global knowledge by Iranian scientists, and lay the groundwork for creating novel solutions for major national issues.
