In a meeting held at Sharif University of Technology on Wednesday, senior representatives from the Jamili Science and Technology Foundation and the university convened to discuss expanding scientific cooperation and supporting researchers, innovators and scientists of basic sciences.
Mr. Jamili, President of the Policy Council for the Young Scientists Festival, met with Dr. Tajrishi, Acting President of Sharif University, to explore joint initiatives aimed at fostering innovation and academic excellence. The dialogue centered on leveraging the university’s research capacity to enhance the festival’s impact and outreach.
The session featured presentations by Dr. Naser Gholami, Head of the Planning and Management Committee, who outlined the foundation’s mission and the evolution of the festival. Dr. Soroush Moddab, Executive Secretary, provided a retrospective on the festival’s eight-year history, while Dr. Shadi Jamili, Head of the Festival Secretariat, highlighted its growing international footprint.
Among the proposed areas of collaboration were faculty participation in the festival’s judging process, joint research ventures, and internship opportunities for Sharif students within the Zarrin Industrial and Mining Group — a move seen as bridging academic training with industry experience.
Sharif University expressed strong support for the initiative, with Dr. Tajrishi affirming the institution’s readiness to engage in future programs that promote scientific leadership among young scholars.
