Young Scientists Festival (YSF) and Center for Development Research and Foresight (CDRF) Forge Collaborative Partnership

In a significant development, the executives of the Center for Development Research and Foresight (CDRF) and the Young Scientists Festival (YSF) convened a meeting in August 2023 to explore avenues for joint scientific endeavors.

The meeting commenced with Dr. Moaddab, YSF Executive Manager, providing a comprehensive overview of the festival, including its guiding principles and implementation strategies. Dr. Moaddab emphasized the festival’s commitment to supporting selected participants and their research endeavors, with a particular focus on educational themes. Notably, the festival fostered bilateral interactions between the participants and industry experts, aimed at facilitating the commercialization of their innovative products and services, alongside the provision of support credits.

 Dr Moaddab introduced Aanco Academy and MineTech accelerator as key contributors to the innovation cycle of the event, highlighting their integral role in strengthening the festival. Furthermore, Dr. Moaddab shed light on the festival’s international activities, including collaborations with member countries of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) and the acquisition of an international activity license from the University of Tehran. Subsequently, Dr. Rouzbahan, Vice President of Research and Education of the Center for Development Research and Foresight expounded upon the center’s multifaceted initiatives.  Established in 2018, the CDRF has consistently demonstrated its relevance by undertaking significant studies such as the “National Spatial Planning Document.” Serving as a vital link between Iran’s Plan and Budget Organization and the nation’s scientific institutions, the center’s efforts have yielded valuable insights, notably in the areas of “Reform of the Country’s Budget Structure” and the “Seventh Development Program of Iran.” Dr. Rouzbahan also highlighted the center’s involvement in infrastructure development and the strategic foresight of key governmental activities. Additionally, he underscored the center’s engagement in educational events and collaborative partnerships within the industrial sector, emphasizing the potential for joint cooperation among all parties involved. Consequently, it was agreed upon that the Young Scientists Festival and the Center for Development Research and Foresight would embark on joint scientific-educational initiatives. These initiatives include organizing technical meetings with the Zarin Industrial and Mining Group to elucidate their activities, disseminating information on various events, and establishing a memorandum of understanding to create a collaborative platform.
