YSF’s Steering Committee Met with the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution to Advance Scientific Collaboration

On Wednesday, August 28, 2025, key members of the Young Scientists Festival met with Dr. Abdolhossein Khosropanah, Secretary of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution, to discuss avenues for expanding scientific collaboration and promoting science across the country. The meeting included a presentation of the festival’s achievements and its partner institutions, followed by a dialogue on strategies to strengthen cooperation.

At the outset, Dr. Mahmoud Kamarei, President of the Festival, introduced the activities of the Jamili Science and Technology Foundation  and the YSF’s efforts to support young researchers and advance scientific development in Iran. He emphasized the festival’s mission to back innovative programs and highlighted the importance of creating supportive platforms for emerging scientific talent.

Mr. Ebrahim Jamili, President of the Festival’s Policy Council, then shared insights into the origins of the Young Scientists Festival. He elaborated on the innovation cycle shaped through the festival and its partner institutions, underscoring its role in bridging scientific ideas with commercialization and the growth of knowledge-based enterprises. He also highlighted the achievements of the “Aansoo Academy” as a successful example of integrating science, technology, and youth education.  

Next, Dr. Naser Gholami, Head of the Festival’s Planning and Management Committee, presented a report on the outcomes of the festival’s eight previous years. Reviewing key statistics and results, he emphasized the festival’s role in identifying scientific talent and supporting the professional development of idea creators and early-stage ventures in fundamental sciences.

In another segment of the meeting, Dr. Soroush Moddab, Executive Manager of the Festival, outlined its international activities and efforts in science outreach. He shared the festival’s experiences in building scientific connections between universities, innovation centers, and similar international festivals, stressing the need to expand these interactions.

Concluding the session, Dr. Abdolhossein Khosropanah expressed appreciation for the festival’s scientific and cultural contributions and announced the Supreme Council’s readiness to support nationwide publicity efforts for the festival. He also offered recommendations for enhancing the festival’s scope, including a focus on quantum technologies, deeper collaboration with national scientific institutions, and elevating the festival’s scientific standing.

The meeting ended with a mutual agreement to continue joint efforts and plan for the festival’s expanded role in shaping the future of science and technology in Iran.
