YSF Hosts Meeting with Environmental Specialists to Adress New Approach on Environmental Issues

On September 8th 2024, a meeting was held in presence of representatives from the Young Scientists Festival Secretariat and some environmental activists. This gathering was aimed to exchange views on environmental challenges and opportunities for our country and creating mutual collaboration between environmental activists and the festival to support ideas in the field of environmental issues.

The meeting commenced with Engineer Jamili, the president of the festival’s policy council, welcoming the attendees and emphasizing the significance of cooperation between young generations and professionals in the field of environmentalism. He stated that the festival provides an opportunity for young researchers’ innovative ideas to contribute to solutions for environmental issues.

Dr. Iraj Tajeddin expressed his delight regarding the addition of the environmental sciences to the festival’s supported fields and stated, “We hope that through our collective collaboration and the presence of experts in this field, we can present effective solutions for the country’s environmental problems.

Dr. Jalali also explained about the recent achievements in the field of environmental protection. He emphasized the importance of innovation and creativity in addressing environmental challenges and encouraged environmental activists to invite young individuals with new ideas to participate in the festival, promoting a spirit of creative engagement and community involvement.

Ms. Ehsani, renowned for her contributions in the field of environmental sciences, shared her experience on her participation about the “can be” conference, organized by the Young Scientists Festival which was to support and encourage the researchers who have not been selected in the festival through the last years.

Dr. Darvish, as an influential figure in environmental protection, declared his readiness to support the organization of this festival, a meaningful event aimed at promoting environmental actions. He highlighted the importance of collaboration among scientists, researchers, and environmental activists, stating that effective and sustainable solutions can be achieved through cooperation and collective thinking.

Furthermore, Dr. Darvish noted that this festival could serve as a catalyst for establishing networks of collaboration among capable individuals and organizations, laying the groundwork for future positive impacts on the environment.

Ms. Albeheshti outlined a selection of ongoing projects and research initiatives aimed at enhancing environmental awareness and conservation and said: these efforts seek to foster a greater understanding of the importance of preserving our natural resources, ultimately benefiting the community.

She also mentioned: through our collective dedication and follow-up, coupled with a commitment to diligence and professionalism during the festival, I believe we can successfully implement these projects as anticipated.

Engineer Shams, a participant in the conference, emphasized the significance of multidisciplinary approaches in addressing complex environmental issues and the potential impact of diverse stakeholders’ contributions. As a representative of environmental activists, Engineer Shams discussed the current challenges in the field of environmental conservation and shared his experiences related to ecosystem protection projects and water collection initiatives. He also emphasized the importance of utilizing new innovations to address environmental challenges in the water sector and mentioned: the presence of the festival has provided a valuable platform for collecting ideas and collaborating on solutions to mitigate environmental challenges.

Dr. Soroush Moaddab suggested the establishment of a panel and discussion forum aimed at providing guidance for young individuals to generate new ideas that tackle current environmental problems. He emphasized that these panels could serve as a source of inspiration and guidance for young minds to develop innovative solutions. In addition, Dr. Moaddab highlighted the significance of supporting creative ideas in this field, as it can lead to increased communication and foster positive changes within society.

Eng. Asadi emphasized the importance of raising public awareness about the environmental issues. In this regard, she highlighted the significance of promoting the Young Scientists Festival to increase public awareness, as this festival and other similar festivals serve as effective platforms for gathering innovative proposals and ideas to address environmental challenges, ultimately contributing to a reduction in the issue we currently face.
