YSF Convened its Annual Meeting with Policy Council Members- July 29, 2024

The annual meeting of the Young Scientists Festival (YSF) Policy Council took place on July 29, 2024, at the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology. The meeting convened to discuss the festival’s achievements in the previous year and its strategies for the 8th upcoming event. Key attendees included the Minister of Science, Research, and Technology along with the prominent council members.

Dr. Gholami, Head of the YSF Planning and Management Committee, provided an update on the festival’s recent activities and presented a report covering the seven-year period since the festival’s inception, including the total number of participants in various editions of the festival and an overview of the secretary’s effort, which involved organizing science-focused events such as webinars, panels, and science promotion activities.

Additionally, he mentioned the festival’s commitment to supporting laureates in their entrepreneurial endeavors by assisting them with necessary resources to establish and run their own startups, businesses, or companies.

Dr. Zolfigol, the Minister of Science, Research and Technology expressed his gratitude for the organization of the Young Scientists Festival, highlighting its primary role in supporting and nurturing young researchers, promoting innovation, and driving the advancement of science and technology.

Dr. Mohammad Moghimi, member of YSF Policy Council and President of the University of Tehran, said: it is a pleasure attending this meeting and also expressed his hope that the festival will continue to grow and mature, and that its efforts will have a positive impact on the global community.

Eng. Ebrahim Jamili, President of YSF Policy Council highlighted the Iran’s global scientific ranking and invited the attendees to share their suggestions for further enhancing the Young Scientists Festival.

The other members of the Festival Policy Council have presented their suggestions, and it has been emphasized that entering the international arena will be a crucial direction for the festival’s future success and collaboration. They have also pointed out that facilitating the process of YSF laureates and supporting their patent registration should be considered.

Dr. Mahmoud Kamarei, YSF President expressed his sincere gratitude to the honorable Minister of Science, Research and Technology for the effective support provided to the festival. He also appreciated the valuable suggestions made by other members aimed at promoting the festival’s growth, stating that all proposed ideas will be carefully reviewed and implemented.
