On August 21, 2024 the Young Scientists Festival’s representatives had the honor of meeting with the President of the Academy of Sciences of Iran, Dr. Mohammad Reza Mokhber Dezfouli. The meeting aimed to forge collaborative efforts and exchange valuable insights, ultimately fostering scientific growth of the festival.
At the beginning, Dr. Mahmoud Kamarei, President of the Young Scientists Festival, presented an overview of the scientific initiatives and supportive activities conducted by the Jamili Science and Technology Foundation, the main organizer of the festival. Additionally, he highlighted that the festival is an official annual event held during the Science and Technology Week of the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology.
Engineer Ebrahim Jamali, President of the Policy Council of the festival, extended an invitation to Dr. Mokhber to participate in the Policy Council meetings of the festival. He emphasized the Academy of Sciences’ significant contribution to the development of the festival through its networking opportunities and the utilization of experts in the scientific evaluation process of the YSF’s received proposals.
Dr. Gholami, Head of YSF Planning & Management Committee, provided a detailed presentation on the festival’s process, highlighting the operational activities involved in selecting the winners as well as a report on their achievements. Dr. Soroush Moaddab, Executive Manager of the Festival explained about the internationalization of the festival and the establishment of the UNESCO Basic Sciences and Technology Club, emphasizing the organization of scientific programs in various regions to promote science.
Dr. Mokhber, President of the Academy of Sciences, expressed satisfaction with the cooperation between the festival and the academy, particularly in initiating joint scientific collaboration, with a focus on organizing joint scientific events.
He also expressed willingness to participate in the YSF policy-making council meetings and welcomed the YSF’s request through disseminating information about the festival.
This meeting was hosted by Dr. Mohammad Reza Mokhber-President of the Academy of Sciences and attended by Engineer Ebrahim Jamili-President of the YSF Policy Council, Dr. Mahmoud Kamarei-President of the YSF, Dr. Naser Gholami- Head of YSF Planning & Management Committee, and Dr. Soroush Moaddab, YSF’s Executive Manager.
