The steering committee of the Young Scientists Festival with the accompany of its Policy Council President, Engineer Ebrahim Jamili hold a meeting with Iran’s Government Spokesperson, Dr. Fatemeh Mohajerani on October 5, 2024. The session aimed to introduce the festival’s activities, highlighting the need for stronger support from young researchers of basic science to promote the advancement of science-based knowledge and industry in the country.
Engineer Ebrahim Jamili, the President of the Policy Council of the Festival, highlighted the importance of supporting young basic science endeavors, discussing the festival’s objectives and achievements, and expressed optimism that cooperation with the government could lead to providing new opportunities for retaining young talents in the country. He also emphasized the need for attention to the cultural and social needs of the elites and creating a suitable environment for their research activities.
Dr. Fatemeh Mohajerani encouraged the efforts of young researchers in various scientific and research fields, stating that “the government is always prepared to support the activities of young elites and intellectuals by providing necessary facilities and resources and added that the government’s goal is to create equal opportunities for all young individuals.” Additionally, there was mention of the government’s programs aimed at improving the quality of education, research, and the promotion of science in the country.
The conclusion of the meeting resulted in an agreement between the parties to continue collaborations and hold a meeting between the YSF grantees and high-ranking government officials to exchange opinions and improve the situation of young basic science researchers.
