In the meeting with the President of the Sharif University of Technology, Senior Manager of the Zarrin Industrial and Mining Group and President of the Policy Council of the Young Scientists Festival, Engineer Jamili provided an overview of both organizations and emphasized the vital role of philanthropists in the scientific development of the country, stating that the primary goal of the Jamili Foundation is to support talented youth and create them an appropriate environment.
He went on to discuss the projects undertaken by the foundation, saying, “At the Jamili Science and Technology Foundation, we have focused on promoting science and technology by supporting innovative and research projects that have had positive impacts on society. Our effort is to create a suitable environment for the growth and development of new ideas by providing financial and technical resources.” He also highlighted the importance of synergy between industry and academia, expressing that close collaboration with universities can help advance the scientific and technological goals of the country.
Dr. Shadi Jamili, Director of the YSF Secretariat, discussed the organization of the festival over the past seven years and its international section. Dr. Jamili presented reports on how the festival has been conducted in previous years, explaining how this event has successfully attracted numerous young scientists and innovators with the aim of promoting and supporting science and innovation. She also mentioned the significant achievements gained through international interactions with prominent institutions and universities.
Dr. Soroush Moaddab, YSF Executive Manager also provided insights into science promotion programs under the title “The Role of Basic Sciences in People’s Lives.” He referred to the innovation cycle of the festival, stating that the selected winners enter a process of acceleration and product development leading to commercialization.
In conclusion, Dr. Mousavi, the President of Sharif University, praised the activities of the Jamili Science and Technology Foundation, deeming the festival as highly important and practical. He announced that Sharif University is ready to collaborate and support the festival’s activities.
