As part of ongoing efforts to enhance international engagement and cultivate an innovation ecosystem rooted in the fundamental sciences, a meeting was held with the participation of the management team of the Young Scientists Festival (YSF) and Dr. Behrouz Abtahi. The primary objective of the session was to explore opportunities and pathways for expanding the festival’s scientific, research, and innovative collaborations on a global scale.
The participants discussed a range of strategies aimed at strengthening the festival’s international profile and promoting more active involvement of outstanding young Iranian talents in international arenas.
Key topics on the agenda included forging purposeful engagement with universities, research institutes, national academies of science, incubators, and science and technology parks in leading countries in the field of basic sciences. As part of these discussions, several initiatives were proposed: organizing joint scientific meetings, specialized workshops, academic exchange programs, and launching collaborative research projects with reputable international institutions.
During the meeting, Dr. Abtahi characterized YSF as a national platform dedicated to identifying and supporting the country’s scientific talents, emphasizing that leveraging international opportunities can significantly accelerate the growth and commercialization of ideas, as well as empower elite teams.
The session concluded with an agreement to develop a framework for cooperation with selected international universities and research centers. This initiative will be formalized through official memoranda of understanding (MOUs), with joint activities set to commence in the coming months.
