Expanding Festival Interactions with Ambassadors and Student Activists from Top Universities

On Wednesday, September 18, 2024, a meeting was hosted by the Young Scientists Festival, with the participation of ambassadors and student activists from various universities across the country. The meeting which conducted both in person and online, included representatives from top universities such as the University of Tehran, Sharif University of Technology, Iran University of Medical Sciences, Khajeh Nasir al-Din Toosi University, Tarbiat Modares University, Islamic Azad University, Bu-Ali Sina University, Sari University, Damghan University, Lorestan University, and other universities nationwide.

At the beginning of the session, a comprehensive report on the structure and objectives of the “Young Scientists Festival” and the importance of basic sciences in the scientific and economic development of the country was presented. Following this, Dr. Shadi Jamili, the head of the festival’s permanent secretariat, welcomed new suggestions to raise awareness in the academic community about the event. She added, “Our aim is to use the remaining time to introduce a wider range of young talents to the festival and give them the opportunity to submit their projects.”

Dr. Moadab, the executive secretary of the festival, announced the extension of the deadline for idea submissions, providing an additional opportunity for those with creative proposals in the categories of idea making and startups who have not yet submitted their ideas.

The festival ambassadors then shared suggestions on improving outreach to student scientific associations, providing clearer information about fields related to basic sciences, and planning new competitions and events for the festival’s closing ceremony.

In closing, Dr. Imani, an active member of student organizations, emphasized the need for broader cooperation among ambassadors to disseminate information through student networks and announced the regular meetings to be held in the coming weeks.
