On Sunday, July 21, 2024, as part of the effort to expand international interactions between the Young Scientists Festival and scientific centers in Saudi Arabia, a meeting was held with the presence of the honorable Ambassador of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Abdullah bin Saud al-Anzi.
At the beginning, the President of YSF Policy-making Council, Eng. Ebrahim Jamili introduced the Jamili Science and Technology Foundation as the main supporter and organizer of the Young Scientists Festival. Following the introduction of the attendees, Dr. Naser Gholami, Head of YSF Planning & Management Committee provided an overview of the festival, highlighting its importance in fostering scientific knowledge and innovation. Then Dr. Shadi Jamili, Director of YSF Office elaborated on other activities of the festival, including its significant role in promoting science events under the UNESCO Basic Sciences and Technology Club.
The ongoing cooperation between the festival and relevant organizations in Saudi Arabia, particularly in organizing joint scientific events, has been warmly welcomed from both sides. Notably Engineer Jamili, in his invitation to the esteemed Ambassador to attend the 8th closing ceremony of the festival, expressed interest in introducing opportunities for collaboration with institutions and organizations with similar mandates in Saudi Arabia.
The ambassador highlighted the potential opportunities for collaboration between the YSF and science organizations in Arabia and suggested organizing a meeting with Iran-Saudi Arabia Friendship Association to facilitate mutual understanding and experience exchange among researchers of both parties.
This meeting was hosted by the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia and attended by Eng. Jamili, Mr. Miteb A-Yami, Dr. Jamili, Dr. Gholami, Dr. Akbari (translator of the embassy), Dr. Mohammadipanah (Head of YSF International Committee), and Dr. Soroush Moaddab (YSF Executive Manager).
