The Organization of Islamic Cooperation Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH) has announced awards to recognize significant contributions to basic sciences. The awards, which include a certificate, a shield of honor, and a cash prize are open for nominations from science academies, research councils, universities, research institutions, and internationally distinguished scientists who are citizens of, and working in OIC member states.
Categories include the COMSTECH Young Researcher Award, Best Scientific Book, Patent, Best Research Paper (in biology, chemistry, mathematics, and physics), as well as recognition for Excellence in Science Communication (including individuals and institutions in OIC countries that are engaged in impactful science communication and outreach activities).
Nominations are due by March 31, 2025.
