The final round of the 24th International Chinese Proficiency Competition, known as the “Chinese Bridge,” was held on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, hosted by Shahid Beheshti University in collaboration with the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Tehran.
During this competition, students majoring in Chinese language and literature from Shahid Beheshti University, University of Tehran, Allameh Tabataba’i University, and University of Isfahan showcased their language and cultural skills in three categories: “Keynote Chinese Speech,” “Performances of Traditional Chinese Arts,” and “Written Test.”
Dr. Seyed Mahmoud Reza Aghamiri, President of Shahid Beheshti University, described the Shahid Beheshti University as the “home” of Chinese language studies in Iran. He emphasized that the university is committed to promoting scientific and international collaborations and aims to enhance the education of the Chinese language and culture.
Kong Peiwu, the Chinese Ambassador to Iran, stated that these competitions act as a “bridge” to strengthen cultural relations and friendships between China and other countries. He added that the historical friendship between China and Iran has deep roots, and language has always served as a bridge to connect the hearts of people.
It is noteworthy that the International Chinese Bridge Competition is a prestigious international event held annually in various countries to promote the teaching of the Chinese language and to showcase outstanding talents in this field.
At the conclusion of the event, award recipients were honored in the presence of the esteemed Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Iran, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy, the President of Shahid Beheshti University, and several university officials and vice presidents.
Additionally, Dr. Shadi Jamili, Director of YSF Office, and Dr. Fatemeh Mohammadipanah, Head of YSF International Committee, met with the Chinese Ambassador on the sidelines of the event. During this meeting, they explored opportunities for enhancing scientific, educational, and technological collaborations between the YSF and Chinese academic institutions.
