An online meeting was held on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, with the participation of Dr. Ali Basti, President of the University of Guilan, and Mr. Ebrahim Jamili, President of the YSF Policy Council.
At the beginning of the session, Dr. Basti outlined the capacities and opportunities available at the University of Guilan, emphasizing its role in advancing science and technology in northern Iran. He expressed hope that joint cooperation with the YSF would pave the way for growth and innovation among students and researchers.
Following this, Dr. Sharifzadeh, who serves both as the Head of the University of Guilan’s Incubator Center and the Director of the Foundation of Supporters of Guilan University, presented a report on the center’s activities and achievements. He emphasized the importance of supporting innovative ideas and strengthening the connection between academia and industry.
Mr. Jamili then expressed appreciation for the university’s efforts, describing Guilan Province as one of the country’s high-potential regions in scientific and technological fields. He stated, “The Young Scientists Festival aims to foster collaboration with leading universities across the country to empower the next generation of innovators and researchers and promote an ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship.” He also offered suggestions for expanding university-industry cooperation.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties emphasized the need to sign a memorandum of understanding between the Young Scientists Festival and the University of Guilan. The agreement will focus on enhancing collaboration in scientific, research, and entrepreneurial fields, as well as supporting innovative ideas.
