Meeting with the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA)

 

The Secretariat of the Young Scientists Festival (YSF office) hosted Mr. Masoud TajBakhsh, the Special Assistant of IFIA President. At the beginning of this meeting, the two parties explained their main activities in order to clarify the possible types of further cooperation.

Mr. TajBakhsh mentioned the following objectives as the general goals of IFIA:

  • To create and develop the necessary structures and infrastructures in order to support creative and innovative people in the world,
  • To motivate and guide creative and innovative scholars towards the entrepreneurship and technology development, and
  • To raise public awareness of the technology development process and design a supportive and encouraging environment for invention, innovation and technological advancement.

Some of the topics discussed in this meeting were as follows:

  • Introducing the Young Scientists Festival to 100,000 Iranian members of the federation,
  • Promoting the festival on the website of the federation,
  • Introducing international professors to cooperate with the festival in the judging section,
  • Holding joint scientific events,
  • Cooperation with the UNESCO Basic Sciences & Technology Club,
  • Membership of the YSF participants in the festivals and exhibitions under the supervision of the federation, as well as
  • Training and cooperating in the patenting process of the festival idea-makers.

At the end and to create more collaboration between the Young Scientists Festival (YSF) and the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA), a bilateral MoU was decided to be signed.

  • Ibrahim Jamili (Head of the Policy-making Council of YSF),
  • Shadi Jamili (Director of YSF Permanent Secretariat), and
  • Soroush Moaddab (YSF Executive Manager)

Young Scientists Festival (known as YSF) is held annually in order to promote the culture of self-belief and create motivation and hope in the young researchers studying or working in the fields of Basic Sciences as well as start-up and knowledge enterprises. As a scientific event, the festival provides talented young people and new businesses with awards and educational support to develop their ideas into practical applications as well as networking and building their future teams.
