On Tuesday, 1st November, a meeting was held between the YSF and Dr. Pourafshary – the faculty member and the head of the petroleum engineering department of Nazarbayev University, Kazakhstan.
First, Dr. Moaddab – the YSF executive manager – explained the YSF activity profile as well as the current process of internationalization of this scientific event. He said: “the distinction of the YSF from other festivals is the support of the selected individuals and teams of this scientific event until the commercialization stage.”
Then, Dr. Pourafshary appreciated this scientific approach of YSF support from young scholars and announced his agreement to cooperate with the YSF. He stated that focusing on ECO and CIS (the Commonwealth of Independent States) seems to be a reasonable strategy and pointed out: “Fields such as energy, environment and artificial intelligence have received special attention in today’s world, and therefore, investing in the above-mentioned fields is top of the agenda in many countries. Welcoming the cooperation with the UNESCO Basic Sciences and Technology Club, Dr. Pourafshary added: “Nazarbayev University is an international university that welcomes communication with international organizations including the UNESCO clubs.”
Dr. Mohammadi Panah – the head of YSF international committee – requested Dr. Pourafshary to introduce professors from this university in the field of basic sciences to contribute as the referees or speakers of the festival and he agreed on that.
Future collaborations were also proposed to be designed between the YSF, the Basic Sciences and Technology Club and the scientists of the Nazarbayev University.
