Meeting of the heads of the YSF with the Deputy Minister of Research of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology

On Saturday, January 16, 2022, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology in the presence of Prof. Peyman Salehi, Deputy Minister of Research of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology; Prof. Mahmoud Kamarei (Festival Chairman), Eng. Ebrahim Jamili (Chairman of the YSF Policy Council); Dr. Naser Gholami (Director of the Management and Planning Committee); Prof. Mohsen Sharifi (Director General of Policy Making and Planning Office of Research Affairs of the Ministry of Science); Dr. Seyed Mahdi Sharifi (Media Advisor to the President of the University of Tehran); Dr. Shadi Jamili (Head of Permanent Secretariat of the Festival); Dr. Meshkat Asadi (CEO of Middle East E-Commerce Development Investment) and Eng. Soroush Moadab (Executive Director of the Festival).

At the beginning of the meeting, Prof. Mahmoud Kamarei expressed his thanks to Dr. Peyman Salehi for his constant support of the YSF. He spoke about the festival’s ongoing activities aimed at its development towards internationalization, as well as the support of Prof. Zolfi Gol the Minister of Science, Research and Technology for the festival.

Furthermore, Dr. Naser Gholami emphasized the independent identity of the festival and stated that the important concern of Eng. Ebrahim Jamili is the effectiveness of the festival for society. He made some remarks about the main concern of the festival secretariat team and asked Prof. Peyman Salehi to help the YSF office with his valuable ideas for the effective support of the festival for basic sciences.

Then, Dr. Shadi Jamili, while appreciating the efforts of Prof. Peyman Salehi, made some points on the internationalization of the sixth festival and the activities carried out.

Dr. Mahdi Sharifi, Media Advisor to the President of the University of Tehran, announced the university’s plan to media coverage of the Sixth Festival in the International and Middle East Section.

Afterward, Dr. Meshkat Asadi explained about Ansu Academy, its goals and role in the festival and emphasized that this academy will welcome ideas with growth potential to enter the labor market.

Following the meeting, Eng. Ebrahim Jamili explained the efforts of Ansu Academy in introducing the startups to the international markets, the UNESCO Club of the YSF and the cooperation with the ECO organization. He also considered the impact of the Young Scientists Festival in the country as one of his most important concerns. He announced the readiness of the festival to hold meetings with the country’s higher education centers, universities, .

He also explained about the research week and suggested that the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology is ready to introduce the festival as a sponsor of research and technology in the country next year during the research week.

Welcoming the guests, Prof. Peyman Salehi, Deputy Minister of Research of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology mentioned the appropriate potentials of the Ministry in the field of international affairs and suggested that the festival could make good use of this capacity.

At the end of the meeting, Prof. Peyman Salehi announced the readiness of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology to continuously cooperate with the Young Scientists Festival. He proposed holding meetings with secretaries of science and technology parks in the Ministry to introduce and promote the activities of the festival and finally he mentioned the events of Basic Science Year in 2022 for introducing the capacities of the festival to the young scientists.
